Identifying a Water Leak If there is damp on a ceiling of a ground floor unit , who is responsible for initiating an investigation into detecting the source of the leak?

Re: Identifying a Water Leak Hi Doug
I assume that the unit is in a sectional title scheme and has a unit above the unit where the damp shows, as I am not certain whether there is a roof above the unit or another unit. There could be many reasons for the leak, depending on the situation and positioning of the units, the water installation and the poisition of the damp. Usually the owner of the unit where the damp shows initiates the process and may possibly have a claim against the owner of the unit above for the costs of the investigations. Regards Grant |
